We all wanted to look young and healthy in anyways possible. The following are some tips on how to be a healthier and a younger you:

  1. Have a daily contact with God through prayer.

Prayer is an open line to heaven. It is free of charge; the only thing we need is our strong faith. We need to have some time for reflection. A daily contact with God through an earnest prayer eases our burdens in life. We can ask anything in prayer and meditation and this is the assurance that every prayer will be answered in God’s own way and proper timing: “I tell you, you can pray for anything and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). A prayerful life creates in us a joyful spirit beyond compare.

  1. Know your purpose in life

Knowing our purpose is like finding a treasure in a barren land. We are all honed perfectly for a mission. “As we seek His will He will work out His plan through us” (Philippians 2:13). It is not the goal we wanted to reach it is rather, God’s divine will for each one of us. Knowing our purpose will make our life complete and worth living for. Make sure my friend that you do not fail to discover God’s plan for you.

  1. Always think positive

Be an optimist. Always believe that something wonderful will happen in your life. A positive thinker is not easily stressed in whatever situations and circumstances in life. Wear a smile wherever you are and avoid disgusting feelings. The way we think affects our emotional and physical well-being. Be joyful and appreciate the things around you including your talents and abilities. Joyce Meyer said, “Positive, thankful thoughts don’t happen by accident; you can choose to practice them. And remember, practice makes perfect.”

  1. Find ways to help the poor and needy

Let us not wait for another Christmas to be generous. Let us try to do it every day in our own little way. “No one has ever become poor by giving,” Anne Frank quipped. We can share our time, talents and resources to others unrestrictedly. We can be generous not only with money but also in kind like joining some charitable institutions as volunteers. Spending our time with others is our greatest investment for eternity. There is no limit in helping the poor and needy in this world.

  1. Eat nutritious food and healthy drinks

Healthy food is the best remedy for good health and to look younger without any beauty regimen. The kind of food we eat determines our health. Eat real food such as fruits and vegetables.  Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food” (Genesis1:29).  Include in your diet the legumes like chickpeas, beans, lentils and add a few nuts every day. Don’t forget to incorporate the grains, such as brown and pigmented rice, whole wheat, and oats. Drink plenty of water and fresh juices for body cleansing.  And most of all avoid alcohol, cigarettes and drugs.

  1. Have a daily Journal

Writing down your emotions in a journal can help relieve stress. We can write down our answered prayers, favor received and other blessings for the day. Life here on earth is challenging, inspiring, worth remembering and most of all worth sharing for. In this life’s journey, we encountered banter of experiences, different individuals and distinct events and places.  Maya Angelou said it well: “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Having a daily journal will help you recapitulates the past events in your life.

  1. Have enough sleep and exercise

Enough sleep allows your body to restore itself because enzymes are replenished and energy is renewed. Having rested well strengthens your body immune system and protects your body from any harmful diseases. Those who have slept seven to eight hours a day are most likely to live longer and healthier. Exercise on the other hand, hastens digestion, boosts the immune system, reduces stress and anxiety, sharpens the memory and combats depression. And most of all take a deep breath, because breathing fresh air is essential for our lungs take in enough oxygen for our systems to function well.

  1. Take a short trip

To avoid vagueness and boredom in life, try to visit new places like waterfalls, oceans, lakes, forest and stunning gardens. Enjoy the sunrise and capture the amazing sunset. Meet people and get to know their cultures and try appreciating it. Travelling once in a while will help fight emotional and physical stress. “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters” (Psalm 23:2). A short trip to discover the beauty of God’s creation is enough to unravel different pressures in this life.

Share your blessings, think positive, eat healthy food, sleep well and do some exercise, explore God’s creation, have time for reflection, express your feelings through a journal, know your purpose and live life to the fullest. Let us invest not with a massive wealth, but with good health and good habits.
